Hindi general entertainment channel Colors has sent a legal notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) alleging breach of contract.
The broadcaster says that the BCCI has failed to fulfill its contractual obligations. The deal was done earlier this year by suspended IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi and would have involved a season of Fear Factor Khataron Ke Khiladi featuring cricketers.
Cricketers were to take part in the programme but the BCCI refused to give permission to the players stating that they are bound by contract not to undertake any adventures that could lead to their injuries. The players would have had to perform stunts.
Modi had apparently told Colors that the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, S Sreesanth, Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh would take part.
Sources say that cricketers will not be a part of third season of Khatron Ki Khiladi.
When contected, Colors spokesperson refused to comment.
