Viacom expands Comedy Central International short-form slate

Comedy Central International has announced two new short-form series, Bad Cramps launched immediately Laughing at Salad which will debut in January. In partnership with VDSI, the network has also greenlit three additional titles — Fin Taylor’s Bullshit Bingo Season 2, Josh Investigates Season 3 and a new scripted show, Waiting.

New scripted series Bad Cramps stars leading female comedians Georgie Fuller and Danni Jackson, stars of Comedy Central’s digital short form Bad Snappers which amassed 16 million views, won Breakthrough Web Series at the Funny Women Awards in the U.K. and led to a localized version in the Middle East. The duo is back with what is described as a ‘sexy, raucous and completely inappropriate’ take on everything from one-night stands to heavy periods. The series’ six five-minute episodes are now available on Comedy Central UK’s YouTube and Facebook pages, with additional regional releases planned in the coming weeks.

Nine-part sketch series Laughing at Salad Debuting in January 2019, will feature an all-female lineup, including Maddie Rice, Beth Rylance, Bronwyn James, Danielle Vitalis and Elinor Lawless. Each sketch is written by different female writers, including Harriet Kemsley, Sarah Morgan, Gemma Arrowsmith, Kat Butterfield, Cassie Atkinson and more. Topics covered include death threats, how to deal with a hangover and surviving the hen party from hell. The series was made in-house, and was produced and directed by Lucy Forbes, and will be released on Comedy Central International’s YouTube and Facebook pages in January 2019.

Comedy Central newly greenlit short-form series will begin development in January and be released internationally on Facebook and YouTube.
